Premium Car Added to Pittston February Theme Trains

Due to high demand, a premium car has been added to our already-popular Pittston to Jim Thorpe February Theme Trains! Lounge Observation Car #7, the King Coal, has been added to our consist for these Theme Trains. The King Coal offers passengers a more intimate setting featuring plush armchair seating and large picture windows. The car will be carried at the rear of the train due to its unique boat-tail end which allows for one-of-a-kind scenic views. Our Theme Trains will operate February 10 & 11 (Valentines Special), 17 & 18 (Winterfest Express), and 24 & 25 (PA Dutch Doughnuts Train). All passengers will receive a special sweet treat while taking in the incredible scenery of Penobscot Mountain and the Lehigh Gorge. Upon arrival in Jim Thorpe, passengers will have over four hours to explore the historic town before returning to their boarding station.  

Only 20 seats per trip are available for the King Coal at a price of $78.00 per passenger. This car can only be boarded at our Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Regional Railroad Station at Pittston. Few tickets also remain for Standard Coach seating at Pittston, Penobscot (Mountain Top), or White Haven.
