Board the train at Reading Outer Station or Port Clinton Station for an all-day outing! Passengers will have time to explore historic Downtown Jim Thorpe during the layover. Standard Coach
This coach is equipped with functional windows, clean restrooms, and comfortable padded seats with backs that flip to face the direction the train is traveling.
Crown Class Coach
This coach offers guests a more comfortable ride than our standard coach car. Features plush, larger, reclining seats- similar to a charter bus, and has clean restrooms available.
First-Class Lounge
Featuring plush armchairs at either end, this car also offers restaurant-style booth seating as well as a wood-paneled snack bar situated in the middle of the coach that is occasionally used to serve refreshments to guests. There are clean restrooms on board, and this car is fully climate controlled.
Vista Class Dome
Ride in the sky with panoramic views of the Pennsylvania mountains. Relax comfortably in our high back padded seats. This car offers clean restrooms and is fully climate controlled.
Pullman Parlor Car
Our vintage 1920s Pullman Parlor Car features an embossed copper ceiling, vibrant flooring, and plush armchairs on swivel rockers. Riding in this vintage victorian-style railcar is always a memorable event in its expansive elegance!
Pullman Sleeper Roomettes
Our 1920s Pullman sleeper car, Hickory Run, features 10 double occupancy rooms (2 people each). This car features functional windows in each room, as well as a restroom at one end of the coach. This car offers guests a great private option!

Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to your departure time to allow time for parking, checkin, and boarding.
Free parking is available at Reading Outer Station and Port Clinton Station.
Please bring your email confirmation with you day of train ride.
Your tickets will be ready for you to pick up at the station prior to boarding the train.

Reading and Northern only has 2 steam engines. We have no backup.
Everybody realizes that mechanical machines built by human beings can fail. Therefore, the railroad works very hard to make sure that we maintain our steam engines to the highest quality.
However, if something unforeseen happens beyond the railroad's control, these trips will be diesel.
